Helmets to Hardhats exec: Veterans can help combat construction labor issues

Right after coming back from deployment as an enlisted soldier, Martin Helms was battling. He experienced a younger household, get the job done, college and a army obligation. Then he sat in a 5-moment presentation for Helmets to Hardhats and, as he tells it, his daily life changed.

Helms finally graduated from the Akron Location Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Instruction Committee (AAEJATC) turning into a journey-amount electrician in the Worldwide Brotherhood of Electrical Employees Community Union 306 and then a foreman. In 2017, Helms took on a new position as the education director of the AAEJATC.
