Transiting to design

Service members are very well equipped to transition to construction, which demands adaptability since “nothing goes as planned,” according to Helms.

So you create a psychological capacity that can make you change to regardless of what that surroundings is to complete the mission.”

Support members should also have the strength and stamina to handle at times physically demanding design employment. But the similarities in the two occupation paths you should not conclusion there.

“[Military members] are employed to currently being there and at a certain time and having a job to do,” Helms mentioned. “That matches into the composition of the armed forces. You have to be there at a specific spot and time to be ready to go. And you typically know what has to be accomplished.”

The building trades can be an interesting profession for support customers because they can benefit from their benefits from the GI Bill with registered apprenticeship corporations. For armed service users who have to guidance people, currently being capable to receive income as a result of education is especially effective.

“They get to accumulate their GI Bill and they can have that money that everybody desires,” Helms reported.

As Helmets to Hardhats grows, Helms would like to concentrate on development in development administration and administrative positions.

“We also need to do very good outreach,” Helms explained. “We have just gotten via 18 or 20 months of the pandemic and there are company customers who require excellent jobs.”
